You stood there, without knowing much about me, facing the fork in the road
Almost as if we'd run through everything with no need to decide
No need to say that we don't care about having an excess of knowledge
No need to kill the world we had for the one we want
To kiss endlessly and wait for love
Not die alive in the process or give in to avoid it
For, living as I do will cost me dearly
but I'll have to refuse to stop smiling or living according to me
Knowing it's the only way to live for all I must live for
Knowing that what I have to give and am willing to sacrifice
Is what will, ultimately, be accepted
I will love you as I've never loved
Cherish and weigh my decisions
So that the road we walk will prove to be
Not pre-destined but resulting from the effort in this affair
