I had a dream last night and you were all there.
It wasn't a Dorothy dream and I wasn't in a wonderland
But the dream was so real and upon opening my eyes you were no longer there.
I saw people that are still in my life and some that are far gone
But all that were there, in that dreamy festivity were all fond to my heart
Even the food, in that dream, looked and smelled real but it gave away my state
When I served myself twice because the first serving disappeared
Like all the people that had already passed they appear in my dreams
As I'd expect to find them in heaven.
But something tells me to dream as much as I might
Because heaven might not even exist and if our dreams taunt us with our past losses
Our future gains may be cherished while we have them
Dream on.
